Well I’m back from PHX, and I was lucky enough to fly AWA haha.
Wednesday morning I get to MCO at 7am, with my flight leaving at 8:09am. I didn’t have any bags to check in, so I went straight to the gate. Just as I walk up, my plane rolls in (N913AW B-757) not a theme which disappointed me. We started to board around 7:40am. I thought that would be enough time to get us off on time, but it wasn’t. I think we pushed back around 8:20am (it would of been sooner, but someone decided to go to the bathroom). We got in the air at 8:29am, and the flight was scheduled to be 3hr and 50min. The inflight movie was “Return to me”, a real winner of a movie there, let me tell ya! The breakfast was nasty. I like airline food, but this is the first time I thought it was
nasty. It was a buritto type thing with “eggs” and “cheese” in it. It didn’t look like eggs and chesse, and had no taste. We also had a side of fruit cocktail which didn’t taste good either. They were low on juice, and they said if you got soda, you would get the whole
can. So I still got juice, and they gave me the can still. The service was great, it was just the food that wasn’t. The interior was nice, no torn seats etc, but my PTV was busted in, which was a nice site. The flight was really smooth, and no turbulance at all. We arrived in PHX 15 mins early, after leaving 20 minutes late!
Friday night my flight to LAS scheduled to depart at 9:33pm, and we weren’t even close to that. At 8:55pm it finally shows up at the gate (N625AW A320). They were quick to get us on, and try to get us out on time. This lady decided to bring her pet with. Well the
cage wouldn’t fit under the seat, so her and the F/A’s got into it for a bit, and she finally got off the plane. They decided to move some people around so familes of 3 could sit together etc. After accomplishing that task, the lady comes back on (this is like 15 mins later) and she had to buy a seat for her pet!! So that meant everyone had to move around again, and change seats. After waiting 10 mins or so on the taxiway, we finally got up in the air (an hour late may I add). They served drinks on the 52 minute flight which had some nice bumps in the beginning from thunderstorm we were going around. We finally land in LAS, and get to the gate at 11:22pm. Well here is the funny part, my flight for MCO leaves at 11:30pm! We came in at A1, and the lady told me it was at B17!!! So I got there as quick as I could and gave her my ticket, and she says “Oh, I think it’s too late for you to board now”. She went down and they were ready to close the door, but they
let me get on THANK GOD. So I get on (N915AW 757 Nevada theme), and they tell me to sit anywhere (25A was my seat, but it was taken....). Brian Stevenson was put on my plane, so I was looking for him, I ended up in the back of the plane and the F/A told me to sit down, so I got seat 28E! I was next to a obnoxious jock, and a 9 year old. The 9 year old kept having his head rest on my shoulder when he fell asleep, I got really annoyed (it was like this for 3 hours) and would lean forward and he would pretty much fall over, and would sit up straight until he fell over on me again. The movie was “Erin Brockovitch”, once again, another award winning movie there. I did fall asleep for 15
mins 2 times until the kid woke me up. They handed out drinks a few times during the 4hr and 4min flight. Service was great, and we were on time to MCO.
I would fly AWA again, and I plan on to if my homies and I decide to spot at LAX. I do not blame the delay from PHX-LAS but the lady probably shouldn’t of been let back on. They seem to try very hard to make it a good airline, and make you have a good flight.
Next time, experience it for yourself, don’t knock something before you try it.
