Whatever happened to this route @ CO? I believed they operated this route from June to December of last summer, but on the route map on their website, its listed as a year-round route. Also, there was no anouncement for it to restart, so I'm assuming that htey kept it going or they're just too lazy to take it off their website.

Interesting, I'm aware of that route but do not believe it has restarted. CO used to fly LAX-San Salvador and San Diego-Mexico City. CO is funny like that. They periodically start, discontinue and restart certain periphery routes at whim.

I remember while living in San Diego, that Continental gave their reasoning for D/C that flight from SAN-MEX, as because the Mexican peso collapsed, and few rich Mexicans were flying up to San Diego to vacation anymore. I can't remember if they started again or not. San Diego is too close to TIJ, to have any real service to Mexican cities (outside of vacation resorts like Puerto VAllarta or Los Cabos). Most Mexicans skip San Diego for the anonymity of Los Angeles area. In the past, they've been made VERY aware that they're not welcome there.

They never stopped flying this route, the EWR-SAL-GUA is and always has been a Saturday only flight.

CO flight #1433 leaves Newark at 9:10 am and returns that evening at 9:14 pm.

A Boeing 737-700.

Im sure LAX-SAL-GUA will make a return soon.

Interesting post about the SAN-MEX flight.

You are right!!! I thought the service was seasonal, but I checked and was wrong. I stand corrected. That makes me feel better after seeing CO mess up by dropping Santiago, Chile and Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

Do Continental have any plans for an US-Scandinavia (OSL/CPH/ARN) route soon? Just heard some rumours about it for 2001, but I do'nt know if it is true.

Ishky 15, I don't know anything about their timetable. I just looked at their website and found the flight, 1433, that operates on Saturdays as a nonstop. I trust the website more because I could buy a ticket on that flight via the web if I wanted too. I too thought the flight was not operating either.
