Quoting APFPilot1985 (Reply 1): It's nice and big and airy as well. There is a ton of parking and shuttles to the terminal as well. What airline are you on?
So true about the parking. If you are claustrophobic, then this is the terminal for you. Make sure you pay attention to the directions off of I-75, and Daniels Pkwy. The entrance is closer to the Interstate than the old terminal.

You're going to have a bit of a walk. AA's single gate is at the very end of one of the three concourses(blanking on the name). Check in sucks during the noon time when STL-bound and ORD-bound pax are trying to check in at the same time, the AA counter is quite small with only two self serve kiosks.
The terminal itself is beautiful, airy, clean, large. Baggage is in the basement.

Funny you should ask, Scott. I was just considering putting up some pics when I was there in October. We arrived a few nights before hurricane Wilma hit and left about a week after -- boy was it quiet. Luckily no real damage to the airport, the eye passed just south through Naples.
The airport is beautiful, however. Did you ever visit the old terminal? That's a different story...

Thanks for the pics, I've been really curious how the new terminal turned out. I've been in and out of RSW a couple of times before the new terminal was completed. It looks like a great facility. I didn't think the old terminal was that bad, but it was getting quite congested (If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't that old either). However, it seems like the SW Florida area has been growing quickly and a new terminal should help the airport cope with that growth.
Enjoy your visit to the Ft. Myers area. I found it to be a pleasant place to visit.

Oh yeah, they built that terminal to sustain growth for years and years. I didn't think the old one was terrible either, besides being too small and cramped. I remember waiting to board a DL 763 a few years ago at 6AM, *shudder*.

Flew in/out of RSW back in November shortly after Wilma.
Great new facility- lots of big windows overlooking the ramp on the land-side (pre-security) with decent chairs to sit in. A great place to kill time waiting for your flight.
Very efficient, open, and bright. Easy in and out with parking and highway access. BIG improvement over the old hodge-podge terminal.
Direct KNOBS, maintain 2700' until established on the localizer, cleared ILS runway 26 left approach.

My biggest issue at the old terminal wasn't so much the parking structure or even the TSA lines, since I was there to conduct training and not necessarily to commute. My issue was the more mature folks so busy looking where to park, scan for family or just not paying too much attention. I got clipped by a Buick LeSabre that I saw coming but I didn't have the common sense to stop.
Never assume they are going to stop and let you cross. They're not being dis-courteous (sic) just not very multi-task oriented. Kinda like my 17 year old when he drives.

Thanks very much for the pictures, it looks great. Yes I've been to the old terminal and let me say that it leaves a lot to be desired. And I very much agree with Rdwelch about those drivers!!
BTW when will we see a RSW-LAS flight? For years I have been wondering about how profitable that route would be. With WN in town now it seems possible. What do you think?
