There has been a lot of expansion to Europe by US Carriers especially DL, CO, US. CO flies to some smaller airports and now U.S to likes of LIS, MXP,ARN and of course DL is taking a big gamble by adding lots more intl travel.
What Coutries/Airports will be next to see new American carrier service, Maybe Poland is yet untapped?

It wouldn't suprise me if some day down the line we see a New York area to BSL service. This could potentially be pretty high yield given Novartis and Roche are both beadquartered in the region as well as many other hot shot companies.
that being said... Maybe some more players in Berlin and Helsinki... who knows

We might see some additional flights into airports of "secondary" cities like Nice,Lyon,Venice,Stuttgart or Palermo.
Belgrade could become a potential "target" if JAT does not get planes in due time.
Among "new" airports-so far without any flight to the USA ,I would put Hannover and Nuremberg in Germany( maybe in 2007 ),Basel in Switzerland,
Gothenburg in Sweden,Bucarest in Roumania ,Malaga in Spain and Porto in Portugal.
In North Africa I predict flights from Algeria and Tunis to Canada and /or USA.

When did JAT do anything in time? There definitely is potential between ORD and JFK to BEG. ORD (catchment area) alone could serve well over 1 million Serbs.
A US carrier would be a welcome sight at BEG as we cannot rely on our pathetic national carrier to serve its citizens.

I remember some French company was about to start direct flights from Nantes to U.S. and Canada.
If I am not mistaken the name was "Oceanic Air" ?
Most probably this idea is abandoned now?

UA has already applied for the ORD-VIE route, not sure when this will happen with the emergence from bankruptcy.

Quoting VORFMD (Reply 10): yep, they already requested Slots in VIE for a daily ORD-VIE run. BUT, theve got bad Slots in VIE, so it will be the Question if UA will accept them.

With a bit of luck. I'm surprised CO haven't announced this route by now. Unless they are waiting a bit nearer to the first flight so people will remember that the route was announced.

Quoting BHXDTW (Reply 18): How about more routes from NW ?
They're the only US carrier who only serve one british airport !..
They codeshare out of others on KL metal.
One day they might look at opening up MAN with the 787 as that would be an ideal route starting aircraft for them. MAN-MSP could do well with NW connections.
Thanks,
Is there any particular reason that they can not get a good slot? I would think with Austrian being a *alliance member they would like to have a codeshare to add more capacity, and thus would help with the slotting, but admittedly I dont know anything about how they are assigned in Austria

Quoting EIRules (Reply 20): I think CO EWR-ORK could soon be on the cards. After that UA SFO-DUB or IAD-DUB
Im not so sure about UA. I think they will enter Ireland but not while the SNN stopover remains. The same goes for CO. It hardly makes much sense doing A EWR-SNN-ORK-EWR run. I think EI might try A ORK-JFK say 2 or 3 per week flight when open skies starts.

Yeah but laster this year CO will start a second daily DUB flight from EWR, one direct and one a triangle route through SNN. Why not in that case have 2 daily DUB direct routes, a SNN-EWR route and a ORK-SNN-EWR flight
Next Flights: EI DUB-LHR A320, BA LHR-SFO B744, UA SFO-LAS A320, BA LAS-LHR B744, EI LHR-DUB A320

26 AirafriqueDKR: Don't know if it's been discussed already but CO is starting EWR-BCN on 17may.

34 HUYfan: Newcastle WILL get a NY service for Summer 2007, I would bet a lot of money on it! Regards Mike
35 Avianca: maybe IAD-DUB but no chance for SFO-DUB, for me the next europe route from SFO operated by UA will be MUC. no way, not to long ago they axed the rout
