ah who cares? does this really mean anything in the grand scheme of things? VS' new lounge at heathrow is practically the best lounge currently all around. but if someone does not use it they will never vote for it. so really these awards are not reprensentative are they?

There may be only two European airlines but how many US airlines are there?  Wink These awards are very subjective and are only useful for the marketing departments at the 'winning' airlines.

Thai - best cabin crew - since when?

Quoting Greenjet (Reply 3):

Not only is the title innaccurate, but there are no US airlines in the awards, which is unusual, as OAG thinks CO is a wonderful carrier.

OK, for the title I already apoligise, again sorry, sorry, sorry and more sorry.

And I'm not surprise there's no American carriers, they can't compete with European and asian Airlines in terms of service and attention.

I was surprised that only Air Berlin and Aeroflot were the only european carrier winners.

Interesting to see QR spending millions on advertising the fact that they are a "five star airline" when neighbouring GF and EK are keeping very quiet about it .........

Agree with Aerofan and Greenjet, the awards mean very little.

QR is advertising it because they are one of the four airlines that currently rated with 5 stars by Skytrax. Since EK and GF are not part of it, how could they advertise it?

The award probably mean very little but it is also one way to recognize an airline's excellence service.

Quite surprised though to see CI on the list. Their service can be good but is it really that good?

Air Berlin was a worthy winner. They are an LCC but yet they still provide complimentary food and drink on short flights, something even full service airline like Iberia and SAS dont do.

I notice that the Asian and Gulf carriers take the lion's share again... I'm hardly surprised really I have alwayd hear good reports about the Asian carriers in particular. I do think that Skytrax is ver subjective though. You only need to look at the comments on the Airline Opinions page. Rarely do European and US carriers get good write ups. Asian and Gulf carriers seem to get alot more....

I don't think it's worth getting hung up on. In Britain we have at least 2 great carriers to be proud of VS and BA. Despite what you think of them, they are both profit making and provide good alround service.
