Somebody knows the exact composition of the Emirates fleet + aircrafts that are on order?
By January 2006, the current operating fleet was:
4 Airbus A310-300
29 Airbus A330-200
8 Airbus A340-300
10 Airbus A340-500
9 Boeing 777-200
22 Boeing 777-300
so a total of 82 planes (Skycargo excluded)

But what about the aircrafts on order?

Ek has got many 777(200LR and 300ER) on order.
And EK is also checking to order a lot of B787-1000 or A350 in the near future.

Okay, afther some search I found the exact figures of the EK Boeing order from november 05.

The Emirates' order is for 24 Boeing 777-300ERs, 10 777-200LR Worldliners and 8 777 Freighters, with the first airplanes scheduled for delivery in 2007.

By January 2006, the current operating fleet was:
4 Airbus A310-300

Hasen't there been numerous threads here in the past about EK flying only one A310? Are the other three A310 Freighters?

Sounds like EK is still taking 20 x A340-600 Higher Gross Weight with the first due this year...

3 of the 4 A310-300's are A310F's, only one PAX A310 is still in service  Smile

Yes as crew for EK i find the subject of the A346 interesting as we havent heard anything about them? will they arrive? and when?

This will surely mean that crew are fleeted with the introduction of the A380 also, i am currently rated on 772,773,77W,A332,A345,A343 which is quite a lot of aircraft when most are set up in 2 and 3 class configurations adding more differences to be aware of. There are a small number of crew trained on A310 however they arent trained on the A340.

regards

Sam

What is the route that the single Pax A310 flies? Also, how old is it? Is it near retirement?

A310 is mainly used on kuwait and alexandria it will be in service for sometime as emirates have said it will be in service for the 'forseeable future' when asking crew to volunteer on it,recently advertised on EK intranet

a.net hype I'm afraid.

EK isn't after anything like that in the near future. They keep saying that neither aircraft suits them exactly at the moment, and that they don't foresee making an order any time soon. They still have a large fleet today and plenty of aircraft due to be delivered, so there's only so far they can go at any one time.

As the A380 and 773ER comes into the fleet, aircraft get cascaded down to new routes and frequencies. So adding another huge batch of aircraft would be problematic and possibly hard to finance. I don't expect to see that order happen before 2010.

A6-EKL does regional routes such as the daily DXB-HBE-DXB flight (Alexandria, Egypt)  Smile

I've no idea why they havn't replaced the single A310 PAX yet, I do like the 310's so I don't mind  Smile

Tim Clark and Maurice Flanagan have said on repeated occasions recently, that EK will look at ordering 787/350 by April/May this year. Whether that's the existing 789/359 or the 787-10X/350-1000, we shall have to wait and see. They want around 50 and they want them from 2012+ and the basic requirement is for a 300 seat, 8,000nm+ aircraft.
Maybe the new engines from RR/GE to power these beasts are not as far away as some people imagine!
