I just saw the announcement from this morning and immediately thought...Wnsocal called the SNA-MDW flight. That's going to offer more schedule choices to the east coast and midwest although most of their system already is connected by non-stops to LAS and/or PHX.
Quoting Wnsocal (Reply 2): WN has added about 18 flights in the last 3 years. This is not a lot by WN standards but for SNA it is a good number.
Especially considering the slot restrictions at SNA. I seem to recall they were at 14 back around 2000 -- 7 each to SJC and OAK. It looks like the new schedule will be up to 35 daily departures.
