I'm arriving in JFK from TLV Tuesday morning and was curious what there was to do for 5.5 hours while I wait for my connecting flight.
Thanks in advance.

If I was you I would go for some spotting at JFK  Smile

Terminal 4 has great viewing areas (just the outside of the terminal), you can view 3 runways and other ramps and taxiways  Smile

Just a hop on the skytrain, or if you are flying on EL Al your already there  Smile

Do you take photo's or just view aircraft?

I didn't know that T4 had a decent viewing area. You're more likely to get a better view from a foodcourt in T1.

If you're not from NY, I'd suggest hopping on a train and going to see the city a little. It's about one hour each way and should be fun. Let me know if you want more details.

I'm on Israir... Should be an experience from all I can gather. Anyway, I arrive at 0700 and leave at 1230. I figure by the time I clear customs, claim my bags, then check back in it will be nearly 9.

I've never posted any photos, but I love taking them. Then again, just looking at planes excites me. I didn't spend 4 years studying aerospace because I thought it was boring.

I didn't either until I tried it out  Smile

Here are a few examples that I took from just outside of the Departure area of T4  Smile

I apologise for the rubbish quality, with my crappy camera as my Cannon 300D (Digital Rebel) broke during my NYC trip  Sad

The advantage of Terminal 4 is that there are no windows blocking your view  Smile

Rob, could you please be more specific on where you can spot from T4?
Thanks.

Yea sure....

Where the black spots are on the following image is where I took the above photo's:

The lines are the runways which you can view from the two area's.

They are located on the ramp where you drop of PAX for departures and check in:
