What's Up With AA Cancelling Flights To CCS?

Hi guys,

Just flew back to VLN from MIA last night on Aeropostal. While at MIA I noticed that AA's late afternoon flight to CCS was cancelled. I also noticed this happened last week. What's going on?

Is it lack of passengers using the flight due to the collapsed bridge to Caracas?

Last night I was on an ex-Finnair MD-80 (not sure if it was an 82 or 83), operated by Falcon Air Express but in full Aeropostal color scheme. I was on the same plane on the VLN-MIA leg last week (Thursday, Feb. 16).

The leg room was great in economy, it must have been at least 34 in. pitch and both flights were on time. I can only recommend this flight to others looking for an alternative to flying from CCS.

I noticed that AA is only operating 3 daily flights (all on B737-800) equipment. This is quite a decrease from their usual mix (A300 and B757-200) that used to fly four times daily (and even 5 times daily at one point).

Anybody know if this capacity cut is seasonal? Due to the bridge collapse?

Why doesn't AA finally start ops to VLN (Valencia, Venezuela)? It seems now would be the perfect time. Granted, the Valencia airport is small, has no jet-bridges, and only one small baggage carrousel, but I still think they could make it work.

Any ideas?

The gov of Venezuela have suspended the licence for DL and CO to serve CCS because of quality issues... what's the problem now?
