Hey guys, a quick question.

I know websites like to "upsell" their product, but I thought I would check with you guys since some of you might have flown KE's longhaul service recently.

My girlfriend and I are planning on visiting friends in Bangkok this year and Korean has the best price from DFW.

Their website claims that Korean now has AVOD on its flights. Does anyone know if their 772's have been completely outfitted with AVOD in Economy? We're not quite as adamant about the ICN-BKK leg having AVOD, but it sure would be nice for the 14 hour segment from Dallas.

Any help would be appreciated.

At the present time only 2 B777's have the AVOD installed.

ICN-BKK most definately will not have an AVOD aircraft on that segment. It will either be a B744 or a B773 (which may have Internet, but that will be all).

At the moment, the B777 AVOD aircraft are flying primarily ICN-SEA, ICN-ORD, ICN-HKG. If your flight is late in the year, then there is chance other B777 aircraft will be upgraded and operating this route, but I wouldn't bank on it.

I will go ahead and freeride on this thread.

Do you think that the 772ER's and 744's that are used for the ICN-LAX-ICN flights will have early next year IFE with AVOD?

On the other hand, what exactly is the on-board entertainment like in the A330-300's used for the ICN-SYD-ICN and ICN-BNE-ICN flights?

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).

Hard to say. LAX is a premium route for KE so I would expect that this route will be upgraded as soon as possible. The big problem is consistency. Offering an AVOD aircraft for one flight and non-AVOD aircraft for the other two flights daily from ICN-LAX is prone to customer complaints, as seen with the ICN-JFK service.

Well, being based in SYD, I fly ICN-SYD quite frequently. The A330 has no AVOD, but does have in-flight internet.

I flew ATL-ICN-BKK in January on on the 744 and 773, respectively. Neither aircraft offered PTVs in Y.

However, I would take KE regardless of the IFE services. I have flown KE several times, and it always has excellent service in Y. It offers more legroom than its competitors, the crew are very attentive, and there is food available throughout the flight.

Looking at KE's website, it lists the flight numbers that connexion by boeing is available on. I'm guessing that these flights and these planes are the ones with AVOD as well?

go to the 'On Board' icon and then the 'Entertainment' icon and then internet service, its very informative.
