In conjunction with the "TW at PIT," "DL in ORD," and "UA in CLE" I thought it would be fun to remember the days of UA at EWR. This includes the routes and a/c they operated when they had a major base/focus city during the 80s and 90s.
And do they still have an FA base there?
Tommy in EWR/LAX.

We had a pretty big presence in EWR up into 9/11. We flew to LAX, SFO, DEN, SAN, ORD, MCO, MIA, NRT, LHR in the 80's and 90's. United operated out of all A-1 gates. I guess they owned many in the A-2 satellite also. We have a hangar. We had a flight kitchen up until 1994. We are down to five gates and about 19 flights a day now.
The FA base is closing soon. We still have a large Maintenance department in EWR though.
