Status Of UPS DC-8 @ PHL

What is the status of this aircraft? Did they tow it to the UPS ramp, or somewhere else on the field?

It was towed to the UPS ramp after the fire was put out. I'm not sure if it's still there or not. I do know it's not on the Island ave. side of the airport so it must still be on the UPS or Cargo City sides.

Its been on the UPS ramp since the morning after the fire. I noticed another PHL spotter posted a photo on the local PHL Spotters' board from fairly recently. The titles on the tail had been removed leaving it flat brown, and a blue tarp was covering most of the fire damaged area of the upper fuselage. The "Wordwide Service" and associated titles were still there.


I think Big Foot is blurry, Its not the photographers fault. Theres a large out of focus monster roaming the countryside

We landed on 27L on 2/17 and it was VERY visable to those of us on the left side of the plane. It's on the extreme South of the UPS ramp. If you drive all the way to the UPS facility you will be able to see it.

I saw this aircraft yesterday while departing on a DL 737-800 for ATL. What happened to this plane? I never heard a thing about it!

I am surprised that there is no evidence that the plane is being parted, presumably the NTSB have not completed their work yet.

There seems no possibility of it flying again.
