From April 24, 2006, Spanair will start two daily flights from MAD to ZRH as follows:

JK-103 MAD-ZRH 17:00 19:05 (except saturday)

JK-102 ZRH-MAD 10:00 12:25 (except sunday)
JK-104 ZRH-MAD 20:05 22:30 (except saturday)

All operated with M80 equipment.

And from April 29, 2006 from Barcelona as follows:

JK-097 BCN-ZRH 06:55 08:35 (except saturday and sunday)

JK-098 ZRH-BCN 09:25 11:25 (except saturday and sunday)

All operated with 717 equipment until May 13 and from this date with M80.

Great notices in BCN. After the Iberia's left, Spanair has seen its oportunity.

After Iberia what??

Iberia still operates BCN-ZRH 1x daily with CRJ (Air Nostrum) and MAD-ZRH 3x daily with M87

I really expected JK to codeshare with LX to Switzerland not to fly their own aircraft...

I remember when Iberia flew this route with M87, 320, 321,... and now, if you want to fly to ZRH, you have only the CRJ. What a great mistake!!!!!!

By the way, IB is also in competition with U2 in BSL on the route to BCN! And also from BSL with CRJ!

Next flight: hopefully soon...

Great news!! Now let's wait for LX to definitely enter Star Alliance and for some codeshares with Spanair and Swiss. I'll need them ...  Wink

Actually the code-share with LX has already been signed.

Really? I haven't seen anything pointing to a codeshare between Spanair and Swiss. Both websites only show their own flights and no code share flights .... so far.

No, the flights haven't been published yet and aren't loaded in the GDS yet either, at least not under the LX code.

Surely one of the main reasons Spanair would start the routes would be a codeshare from their Star Alliance partner SWISS, particularly as Iberia still have the routes in their network and will be competition for Spanair. A SWISS codeshare will give Spanair an advantage in providing connecting passengers @ ZRH and securing more sales in Switzerland than Iberia

LH will increase its BCN-Germany flights!!

BCN-DUS from 3x to 4x daily
BCN-STR from 3x to 4x daily
BCN-MUC from 4x to 5x daily

Another example of the failing IB policy in BCN
