Just a headsup fo the spotters and photogs @ SAN - N102DL 'Spirit of Delta' 76, in the midsts of its farewell tour, is enroute from LAX. Lifted off 25R at 10:30. A group of DL employees onboard.

Unfortunately don't have info on the ground time @ SAN (perhaps DL a.neters can fill in here.)

With a choice between changing one's mind & proving there's no need to do so, most everyone gets busy on the proof.

Looks like they are circling Catalina Island right now.

Uncle SAN at your service!

All the good stuff comes in on my days off (Tues/Wed)...  Sad

I did see it a few weeks ago at SAN. I was a bit surprised as I thought it had already been retired with the rest of the -200s. I enjoyed the moment and treated it as the possible last time I'd see it.

I dont think it actually went to SAN. Every "spirit" flight so far has filed a flight plan to a fake city. The JFK one filed to LGA, the BOS flight to BDL etc....

Quoting AA 777 (Reply 3):
the BOS flight to BDL etc....

In the case of the BDL flight plan, I watched Flight Aware and the Spirit of Delta went right over the Hartford airport on a heading that makes me wonder if they did a low pass over Runway 33. The plane went southeast out of Boston over the Cape, made a beeline to the west to go directly over BDL, then looped back around and went back to Boston.

Has it already gone? What's the situation? Will it actually land at SAN one last time?

... I don't know why I'm so interested, I won't be able to see it anyway...

Scotty doesn't know...
