There is to be a new Air service setup linking Cardiff with Angelsey. They will by flying out of CWL direct into RAF Valley where passenger facilities will be added. Interesting to see the prices and uptake.
I drive this route a lot and it takes a long hard drive in the car due to the nature of the roads. Fingers crossed it will work!

Going on the vague recollections from my past, wouldn't Caernarvon's runway be capable of taking, say , a D328 or such? I'm sure at sometime in the past, Air Atlantique had mentioned the feasibility of a DC-6 getting in and out.
I know there's barely any infrastructure on the airfield itself, but it just seems to me that to fly into Valley negates the benefit of flying from Cardiff, because you than have to waste time getting off Anglesey back onto the mainland.

Our friend Pe@rson has been quite a vocal campaigner on A.net for services into RAF Valley for a long time, so I'm sure he'll be delighted at this news.
So is this a possible route for Air Wales? With 6G being a former Do 228 operator, maybe this could be an ideal sized aircraft for such a service?

The sooner the better. I live in North West Wales and regulraly travel to Cardiff, by car on the dreaded A470 or sometimes the even worse Arriva Trains Wales from Bangor.
As long as it reasonably priced RAF Valley would be just fine, although dependent on timing, I might lose some of my overnight stays!!!
