Hi all!
Unfortunately I'll had to cancel the planned RJ100 Alps sightseeing flight due a lack of interest.
So far, I've got only 24 people confirmed and 11 which are interested on the flight.
Therefore I'll change the day tour.
The new plan is at July 29th, 2006. (AFTER THE FOOTBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!)
Meet from 9.30am on till 10.30am, in front of the "Visitors Terrace" at Check-in 2.
Visit of the "Terraces B, + E" and a special bus tour to the touch down zone of RWY 14 and to the runway crossings of the RWY's 16/34 - 10/28.
(Until approx. 2.00pm)
After that, we'll have a lunch brake at "Terrace B", before we go at 3.30pm
again to the bus gate.
The other bus-tour will bring the group to the maintenance area of the airport where we will join an arranged tour offered by SR-TECHNICS, one of the world leading aircraft maintenance companies. This tour will last for about 2,5 hours.
We'll see how engines, structure, cockpit instruments and components of aircrafts are overhauled.
If were lucky, we might see an test-run of an engine in the engine test facility.
And we will go inside an aircraft which is on that day undergoing B, C, or even D-checks. Possibly we might see an a/c of an airline which is only a costumer of SR-TECHNICS and not flying regularly into ZRH.
At the evening, we could go once more for dinner to the lovely RWY34 restaurant.
Lets see!
This time I'll be limited to 60 people.
Due a higher charge of SR-TECHNICS, the price for the whole package is CHF 25,-- or € 16,--. (A bit cheaper as the planned tour with the flight)
This price can only be maintained when I get around 60 people in the group.
With less people the price might slightly increase.
I insert here the list of the already interested people.

How about a combined ZRH-GVA meet. We could meet up in ZRH and fly to GVA with Baboo.
Otherwise we could meet up in GVA and fly to ZRH .Prices have dropeed down to 25 francs one way...with taxes it makes GVA-ZRH 47 Francs(30 EUR, 40$) one way and 113 Fr (72EUR,86$)round trip......
On the other hand, if we meet in ZRH and fly to GVA...add 20 francs to the GVA prices due to higher ZRH taxes...
It certainly would be less expensive and I'm sure it would be a great thing to visit both of those airports...and I'd be very happy to show people my region !

I do agree that it is a great idea... the problem is that there is NO way to get enought seats on Baboo to seat the whole tour group. Those fares are limited to a few per flight thuswe would spend all day waiting for peopleslater flights.

I have the impression the Dash would seat around 50 people...... and seeing how much interest there was I'm sure we could fill it enought to make it profitable...too bad...it would have been a great thing to organise a joint GVA-ZRH meet...but now having a second ZRH meet in so little time might decrease interest for the joint meet in the future

Could happen. But I have no problems at all to cancel the complete day if there is no more interest.

Hi Glidepath73, I am a regular A.Net reader and have finally signed up to chat properly. I'd be very interested to join on this visit to ZRH. As a suggestion for a short hop, how about chatting to Darwin to see if they could offer something to LUG - good chance for some Saab 2000 mileage for those that are not LX veterans, and it's a spectacular ride.

Don't do that. Remember, at the first meeting only about 11 came and we still had a fantiastic day. Even if it means we can't do an SR techniks tour, just beting together at the airport and spotting all day is just as fun.
But it would be nice to include a flight. We don't have to charter a plane of any sort if we just stay around 15, we can take a scheduled flight to GVA/LUG.
SR800: Welcome.
What airline do you manage?
Homer: Marge, it takes two to lie. One to lie and one to listen.

Wow...this sounds great.
I'll add myself to the "probably" list, as I also plan to attend the airshow at Farnborough the previous week.
I'll take a decision as soon as the dates for this meet are confirmed. I missed the previous meet at ZRH and still regret it, so this time I really want to attend (depending on financial status, of course).
There's a reasonable €147 fare with Iberia, but these fares are sold out quickly so I'll cross my fingers.

I'd recommend you all stick around in Switzerland until the 1st of august and have somes beers and soot some fireworks
Thanks for re-confirming Raphael! Will be nice to meet you then!
Just came back this evening with Fly NIKI A320 on VIE-ZRH. Was nice, they use an interesting new flight information system on board. I've tested even my car GPS. Worked very well, it showed precisely all towns and villages. Cool!

@roots air
airport taxes in zrh and gva are pretty high usually. and the tickets do not include taxes.
otherwise it sounds great, Patrick, I'm still a maybe, can't say for sure until a couple of days before the meet.
