Hi!

Iceland Express's first MD-90, HB-JIF, will arrive in Iceland today, A total of three MD-90's operated by Hello AG in Switzerland will be entering the Iceland Express fleet until May, replacing the MD-82's they have today (which are operated by JetX).

The three jets are, just as the two from JetX, owned by SAS.

Here is a link to a photo of HB-JIF on the Iceland Express website taken last week in Oslo where it had just been painted:

A welcome change from the usual A32X/B737-boredom in European skies.

Aside from the fact that the MD-90's slated for a restart of ProAir have been sold to scrappers, I wondered why Iceland Express or other MD-90 operators didn't pick up these airplanes.

Beautiful plane, beautiful livery! Thanks to Hello for keeping the 90 alive. Hello's livery is also striking with the 90. What a shame any have gone to the scrappers.

When were these MD90s produced? They can't be very old....
