I miss the widget dearly. Hopefully, with chpt 11 emergence hopefully in the next couple years they will re-emerge with "the spirit" that 102 brought them, and repaint the whole fleet in the widget colors.
Can't wait to see those photos either.
DL, what a classy lady....Mad Dogs...a classy plane.....USA...just the best all around

Quoting INTENSS (Reply 1): Yes, it was a planned fly-by. Got plenty of shots of it.....a couple are currently in the queue at JP.net
With all due respect for INTENSS, and being that I've seen his photos before, this won't be anywhere near as nice as his will be, but its a peak as to what you can expect from Delta's own intranet site on the flyby and ceremony.
Yea, only needed the weekend, although you can never get enough topless women. However, if my girl caught me looking at any more....well, lets just say 2 days was enough. If it wasn't another woman, it was planes flying right over our head. I think she was feeling left out. LOL
Are my links not working? If so, darnit, I was hoping that wouldn't happen. It did cross my mind that the links wouldn't work because Delta's intranet is a closed circuit system, but I was hoping that I could pull pics from it. I'm sorry for getting you excited, dude.

Quoting DL021 (Reply 16): Hey....Otto...when are they gonna take it across the street and put it in the old Hangar 1? I'd like to see that happen and take some photos.
Well, write this down, as I'm sure its pretty concrete. She is gonna take a visit over to the TOC for her coach cabin to be removed and cleaned, and then towed across the street on April 6, I believe. When she is put into Hangar 2(not 1), she will have a video section in the FC cabin, and the coach section will be a museum gallery to walk through instead of having seats.

Spirit of Delta was flying around ATL all day today (March 6th) I showed up to work (ASA dispatch) in the afternoon and my co-workers told me it had done two tour flights for the employees around the city of Atlanta and Atlanta motor speedway!? and two fly-bys for everyone to see. It was departing out of the Mercury Air Ramp on the north side of the airport. The last flight of the day was around 4:30pm. It came in for a low-pass on runway 26R and just about when it was over the numbers it made a sharp turn to the right (yes before the Renessance Hotel for those are familiar with the area)...toward Delta's G.O. The view from the 7th floor of ASA building was something I had never seen in my entire life...the nose was pointing staight toward our building and it kinda gave us the eerie feeling of 9/11 all over again...but soon enough it made a sharp right turn over Delta's headquarters right before our building and came around for the final landing. The thing must have been like 500ft from the ground. It was nuts.

I was lucky enough to ride on ship 102's Circle Flight in Dallas, and we buzzed Love Field at 30 feet - with gear UP. It was amazing. We also did some circles around downtown Dallas - extremely low - and then over Fort Worth.
Truly an experience of a lifetime. Photos are in the queue awaiting rejection.

Thanks anyway, but mine didn't come out as well as hoped. They're up on JP.net along with a few other better shots by Gregg and Dan.
