This summer (May-Oct) Finnair flies HEL-HKG 3-4 times per week non stop, omitting the current landing in BKK.
From July AY will increase flights from HEL to Shanghai from 5 to 7 and to Guangzhou from 3 to 4 per week.

Yes, these increases along with the new service to NGO are thanks to the A340 AY will get in June from Virgin Atlantic.

Really curious seeing A340 in Finnair's colours so soon, that's worth of starting a new topic!
Do you know what will be the first route?

Yep, It's great news  Smile KIX has been mentioned as a strong candidate for the first route.

Sorry for the post above, seems to be old info. No decisions regarding the first A340-route yet.

Does anyone know whether this AY flight will have a code-share agreement with CX?

Quoting Andaman (Thread starter):
From July AY will increase flights from HEL to Shanghai from 5 to 7

Will this be for the summer only and then go back back to 5 or will it remain 7 after the summer aswell?

Quoting Andaman (Thread starter):
Guangzhou from 3 to 4 per week.

Same question here; only for the summer?

Quoting Andaman (Thread starter):
This summer (May-Oct) Finnair flies HEL-HKG 3-4 times per week non stop, omitting the current landing in BKK.

So this is only for the summer, but my question here is: There's the flight to BKK daily, 4 times a week it continues to SIN, and 3 times to HKG, but now when the HKG is nonstop, where will the BKK flight do those 3 times?

bye  Smile

Hej CityAirline,

At the moment the AY timetables say the flights to Shanghai and Guangzhou will return to 5 and 3 per week after the busier summer season.

At the coming summer season the daily BKK flight will always continue to SIN.

This winter they have up to 12 departures to BKK per week, next winter even one daily flight more. HEL-BKK route getting really busy then, I think partly thanks to the growing amount of Swedish passangers  Smile

It seems next winter 4 of the BKK flights will continue to SIN, 3 to HKG, like this winter.
