I heard this listening to ATC today. It landed on 28R, but I don't know where it taxied to.

You're probably right about being an ex-ATA 757 joining the fleet.

It parked over at C60 to clear customs. Not sure what happened to it after that. I don't see any record of it leaving, and I don't see it at any of the hangars.

Yes, it is one of the ex-ATA birds. It's in PIT to have some maintance work done.

So this bird came from Shannon Ireland. It would be even sweeter if it was regularly scheduled. When I saw this thread, I thought US was about to restart transatlantic service again from PIT. Still, looks like it ain't gonna happen. Didn't US say that PIT was going to be the maintenance center for their A319/A320/A321 fleet and CFM56-5 engines?

PIT is still a key maintenance base handling as much work as anywhere else in the system.

I just remember reading in the newspaper that US was going to have its narrow-bodied work be done at PIT and have its wide body maintenance work got to CLT... Half the stuff I read anymore, especially in the PG, isn't even true...

Yep and they are going to be using the B757-200's out of PHL for flights to SNN, GLA, DUB is they go their..... There is NO Business class section on these aircraft. They are all coach seating. And as per US they will try to get the business Class seats into these aircraft durning the summer, but I would not count on it. I have to fly with a 40 member choir to GLA and SNN and we are on these planes. Ye ha. It's going to be a long flight.....

DUB will remain a 767. The 3rd 757 will be used for Lisbon services.

They won't try. It is going to be in for next summer though.

Actually, PIT is installing the standard US seating (8 domestic first class) from what a buddy told me. However, they are booking them as one class.

Next year they will be refitted with a proper transatlantic Envoy Class configuration up front. According to US management, they just don't have the time to do all the retrofits necessary for that product (in-seat IFE, etc.) before the season starts.

USAir A321 service now departing for SFO with fuel stops in CAK, COS and RNO. Enjoy your flight.
