As I have been a away from the action for a while, I have noticed some changes in Jat Airways within the last few months. First off, they have developed a nice web site. They will still have to add functional online bookings though.
Now, the reason for my post: as I am aware, the airline no longer operates the DC-10 nor the Boeing 727. Apparently the number of active DC-9s have been further reduced. Rumors suggest that the airline will lease one Boeing 767 and two Bombardier regional jets. Can someone confirmation these rumors? What are the indications that these two aircraft types are destined to join the fleet before summer?
Could someone compose a list of current aircraft operating in the fleet, includes planes on lease to foreign companies. Thanks.

I was unaware that one Boeing 737-400 was returned last year. Likewise, we have two Boeing 737-300s and one DC-9 leased abroad.
Consequently, the Jat Airways fleet is as follows:
10x B-737-300 (2 leased)
1x DC-9 (leased)
That is good to know that the fleet has undergone the necessary generation change, effectively reducing the baseline operating cost. Has Jat received all necessary certifications to once again launch direct flights to USA and Canada?
Ultimately things would be a lot better if they adopted a nice color scheme to the entire fleet. It is very disappointing that the airline has yet to budge on PR. It may cost upwards of one million USD to keep things fresh, but I am sure that a bit of good marketing would bring in a lot more revenue; consequently increasing/decreasing the profit/loss margin.

They could definitely use some marketing, but I believe they don't want to rush things and then change everything, as they did before. Their budget is tight now. Several fleet decisions should be made and things cleared up pretty soon - regional, long-haul, Airbus. Once they know what planes they have, they can start mixing colors and give up white livery. At least those planes are clean, which was not the case before.
Mr. Starcevic mentioned that Canada is almost a done deal, and maybe that's why they are sending crews to train on B762, but the US is still in the works. I hope Serbia will get FAA's Category 1. There's quite an important deadline concerning Hague Tribunal (end of March), and if they deliver as expected, I would think Cat 1 would be imminent. I'm less and less convinced that there's any serious technical obstacle, it's more politics.
