Today, Midway Airlines announced that they will start seasonal 737-700 service to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The service will be from Midway's hub at Raliegh-Durham International Airport. Could this mean the start of a Westward expansion by JI? The complete story can be found at:

Westward Midway expansion would be a GREAT sight!

Probably a good choice for Midway was to avoid seasonal service to EGE... HDN is a great alternative and has less competition. I believe only TWA offers full-size jet service (seasonal) with MD-80's.

Regarding Steamboat Springs...

Northwest also offers nonstop seasonal service to HDN, utilizing their A320s from Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP).

I've flown AA's B757s into HDN on a number of occasions the past few years. There is a bit more ski service than most folks realize (and growing).

AA flies ORD-HDN-ORD with a daily 737-800 in the winter season.
