A friend just SMSed me from ITB in Berlin that QR unveiled a new livery at Berlin, not much has changed apparently, they cropped the Antilope on the tail and applied billboard titles. They also dropped "Airways".

I wonder if Qatar is leaning toward the A346 over the 777. That color scheme would look pretty good on a 777 or 77W.

I thought QR was in re-evaluation mode on the long-haul jets.

The old livery is better - I don't care for oversized tail insignias like this one or the new United "U". I can hardly tell what it's supposed represent. Billboard titles have also always struck me as a bit tacky, lacking elegance.

Quoting OHLHD (Reply 10): Looks good, but it follows EK and EY
You are right, but QR livery is far prettier and appears to exhibit prestige, though I must say that Etihad livery is growing on me as well. Not a fan of EK's colours though.

I like it very much. Is it just me, or do I see a hint of the new aeroflot livery in the design?

Its you
Seriously, QR livery is just a slight change from the previous scheme which was one of the best out there along with the liveries of SAA and Royal Jordanian.

I do not like the old QR livery.
I find the new one much better, although, for me, it's cheap to put "Qatar" in bold. "Qatari" or "Qatar Air" would have been much better in my opinion. It's as if it's a government aircraft or a logo plane raising awareness of the country of Qatar, rather than an airline.
With regards to the EY livery, I think that there's something missing in there.
I also think that EK should go for a livery change sooner rather than later.
Just my €0.02 worth.
Take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprints
Lokks like the designers had A380 in their mind. Not bad, just a slight change. I prefer that way of thinking more than complete change of corporate identity.

Now, they may be nice, but nothing is as nice as Royal Jordanian. If you have some argument against it, just say it JoKeR

I really liked the old one. But I think in real life the new one will also look good. I dont mind the 'billboard' size letters, unlike some other a.netters. I think it looks nice, takes up some of the otherwise empty space on the fuselage. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how it looks...i'm sure a pic will appear on a.net sooner or later...

25 Stjuard: Not bad... But the old one was more elegant and serious... At least in my eyes
26 Airdolomiti: I agree. I don't think the new livery is that bad per se, but compared to the old one, it's just....gross Federico
27 AirPacific747: I also like the old one better... It seems like those big billboards is the latest trend among every airline. I think it is boring that they all have
28 JoKeR: The lounge looks mighty nice! What a way to travel! Reminds me of the Upper Class section on VS.
29 Johnny: A great new colorscheme!!! I like these huge letters on airplanes!!! (Why does LH have so small letters?!? ) Johnny
30 Aleksandar: No words can express my reaction better. BTW, I heard that this is exactly how JAT 767s are going to look like
33 OwlEye: The tailfin design looks like an improvement but in different angles the brand mark looks a bit disabled. The fuselage titles look horrible and cheap.
34 JoKeR: Totally agree on this point - the billboard titles do make it look "cheaper"
35 Ariis: In general the design looks good, but I can't say that about the Oryx on the tailfin. First, it is too big, so if someone didn't know it is (supposed
36 AA1818: I prefer the old design. Far more elegant. I honestly would not be able to tell that was an onyx. At least with TAP and UA and MX you can actually tel
37 Oli80: My first reaction was that I really liked it. But then I saw the post with the two next to each other and i'm not so sure now. They have dropped the "
38 YOWza: I like the current livery. The new on looks very LCC. YOWza
39 ChrisZRH: they new tail plus everything else from the old one would be the magic combination well i guess the unveil a new livery with the arrival of the a380 h
40 OwlEye: A comparison is online via this link: http://www.liladesign.com/Qatar/Qatar-Airways-livery-compa.html
41 Vasu: Actually I prefer it the other way round... The bigger QATAR titles and the old tail logo... I must admit the new tail logo is somewhat obscure... if
42 Braybuddy: Agreed. . . they have made a mess of it. It looks like an abstract design on the tail.
