Brussels Airport was awarded “Best Airport in Europe” for 2005, at the occasion of the Airport Service Quality Conference of the Airport Council International (ACI),held Monday night in Abu Dhabi. Brussels shares the first place with the airport of Copenhagen.
Brussels Airport was also ranked "3rd best airport worldwide" in its category (airports with 15 to 25 million passengers per year), behind the airports of Kuala Lumpur and Dubai.
The annual awards are based on surveys on passenger satisfaction with airport facilities and services. They are done on a quarterly basis among over 100,000 passengers at 66 airports worldwide.
BIAC's CEO Wilfried Van Assche is very pleased with the award. "This recognition acknowledges the joint efforts made by the entire airport community in Brussels in order to improve the quality of the services offered at Brussels Airport and to better meet passenger needs. Since 2003 Brussels Airport ranks amongst the Top 5 airports in Europe. A continued customer focus is key to make the travel experience through our airport enjoyable and stress free", he said. http://www.brusselsairport.be/news/
