1st 767 JAT.
So what destinations will this aircraft serve? Just curious.

Should be New York and Toronto.
I am so excited. I would have preferred that Jat get a 763, but a 762 isn't bad at all.
Can't wait for pictures of it in the livery, configuration map, and the flights to be loaded.. (hopefully slated to fly)

Glad to see JAT back to the transatlantic arena. I used to see their DC-10s at O'Hare all the time back in the late 80's. I don't know what happened to them. I know that when JAT emerged after the end of the Balkan conflict, they only had one left. I assume it is not flying any longer.

I thought they were looking for 767-300ER'S. Was the lease rate to high, or y were they unable to find suitable aircraft?

FCKC,
Does it say what's YU registration? I could only get up to YU- part.
If this plane is going to be painted at Nimes, its predecessor, YU-AMB is awaiting its death there and will see its successor.

I would assume the 762 is a better choice for an airline that has not flown long-haul flights to North America for almost 15 years. The last JAT operated long-haul flights was their regular service to Beijing in the late 1990s.
With the assumed introduction of JAT flights to Pearson Airport, will we be seeing competition on the Toronto - Belgrade route? Skyservice operated this route during the tourist season for the last two years. Kudos to Skyservice!
If the worst case scenario were to come true, JAT could always consider operating the 762 to Zurich, Paris, Dubai, Moscow and London.
As for our long loved YU-AMB, she will forever be remembered. This plane definately saw all corners of the globe in its proud JAT livery.

Skyservice was not very well known, and made a stop (was it Dublin?).
I don't think Skyservice will be chartered by 747 Travel this year, I expect 747 just to buy seats from Jat.

Congratulations to JAT Airways for returning to North America on its own metal. Their transatlantic service in the late 80s/early 90s was among the best, and I hope they will offer their passengers an inflight experience comparable to that of their European competitors.
Any news what cabin configuration is expected? IFE? When are flights expected to start?

As much as I personally would also like to see the DC-10 continue to fly, their time has passed and it's best to continue on with something newer. Good luck to JAT, and I hope they'll paint that 767 is something better than the current livery with the dots or the all white one.
With a few minor modifications (like removing the Yugoslavia, since what's left of Yugoslavia is now known as Serbia and Montenegro and changing the Airlines to Airways), this colourscheme would be much better.

Well, I am really glad and can't wait to see that 762 arriving in BEG. Yes, 763 might be a good choice, too, but it is not too late to add some later.
Now, it will be much more difficult for JAT to enter the North American market than it was in 1970s when first 707s were leased in and now JAT will have to offer much more to its passengers. I was wondering if there's any A.netter in Nimes who can give us more details. First, I'm interesting to know more about the interior of the plane, configuration and IFE.
762 is a good choice and it can certainly be used to DXB, too. Maybe even some European destinations as well.

How many is JAT getting? only one.
Anyone know if its GE or PW powered?
I guess its time for JAT to jump into the trans-atlantic market. Malev has a big chunk of the travellers from that region. JAT inflight product will have an important role if this service is to stay.

about the IFE, you will get a Jat Review magazine, and on top of that watching Jat crew is pretty enterntaining.....lol
jokes aside, i doubt there will be any PTVs, so teh good old main screen will do.but you never know.i hope Jat reoragnize their schedule so that pax arriving from north america can connect to middle east, Africa and some other destinations.and same on the return. Cant wait to see 767 in Jat colours.
i can just hear it " Dame i Gospodo, dobro nam dosli na ovaj Jat-ov let za Nju Jork......Mico, ajde molim te stavi jednu kaficu dok ja ne zavrsim ovaj anaunsement"....lol ok now i am just being sill.
The reason why I asked about IFE is because, again, competition is much tougher these days. If I could choose, and now I easily can, IFE is another important thing. Not the only one, of course. For example, if another airline offers the same price as JAT and has PTVs on board, they have some advantage and I wouldn't be surprised to find out that competition offers even cheaper tickets than JAT.
