I was just driving into the obeservation area at MKE yesterday and saw an Allegiant "mad dog" rolling down runway 19R and after 10 or 20 seconds of roll he applied the thrust reverse and hit the brakes. He taxied back to the terminal and later there were 3 airport emergency vehicles there and one MKE sheriff deputy as well. I dont believe that Allegiant has a flight scheduled to depart around 5 PM or so.
Can anyone clarify what happened.
Regards,
Mark in MKE

The flight was Allegiant Air 2416 to CUN. The original flight plan had a scheduled departure time of 5:10pm. Then the filed for 6:30pm departure but that didnt get used. Finally they got airborne at 7:52pm.

I dont have any solid information, but it sounds like a mechanical problem discovered on takeoff.

I saw the whole thing happen and those emergency vehicles showed up long after the aborted takeoff. Are you sure they are related?

Hi fellas.

No big deal, the crew had a bad indication of some kind and returned to the gate for repair before heading to CUN. There was no reason or correlation of the emergency crews being handy. Unless its standard practice for them to check for hot brakes or something. No real issue here guys.

Rgds,

Rick

Anyone know why there is an Allegiant MD-80 in the Midwest hangar at MKE?

I dont know why it is in the hangar, but there is an Allegiant 83 based there now doing charter work for Apple. Goes to CUN, HUX, PUJ, MBJ, and ZIH.
