The Midwest flight is carrying Marquette and then goes and picks up Kansas and takes them to Detroit.

That's a heck of a lot of Allegiant's in one day! And they added another from SLC that arrives at 6:54pm. So that's five. Good catch on the YX MD-80 didn't see that. The B6 repositioned from LGB last night to complete the red-eye to JFK before the 11:30p curfew kicked in. Looks like the flight from IAD last night, which usually turns around and operates the red-eye, was delayed and did not arrive until 11:28pm.
But I'm going to catch the World Airways MD-11 at Miramar at 3:37pm.
Airline World Airways
Flight Number 8792
Departure City (Airport) Bangor, ME (BGR)
Departure Time 03/14/2006 12:32 PM
Arrival City (Airport) San Diego, CA (NKX)
Arrival Time 03/14/2006 03:37 PM
Remaining Flight Time 04:42
Aircraft Type Boeing MD11
Current Altitude 30,000 feet
Current Groundspeed 509 mph

I would guess that there might be some good charter flights later in the week for the World Baseball Classic. Any word on what to expect then?
I sent out an email to the regular SAN photogs about the charters. Maybe one of them will make it out and get some photos for the rest of us to enjoy.

Me too, for sure!
Where do you usually spot? If it's a clear day I usually go to the Mt. Soledad cross.

You will see a lot of these during March Madness. OAK, SLC, JAX, GSO, DTW, SAN (+ WBC finals), and DAY will probably be getting some interesting traffic in the next few days/week.
Wonder what the Aztecs will be taking...they usually do Southwest. Go Aztecs!

Opened a related thread concerning WBC charters... nonetheless here it is...
Due to the WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC some beauties may be arriving and departing ex SAN due to team charters.
If the Korean / Japanese teams progress to the San Diego finals. We have the potential to see a JAL charter (B744)
JAL flights at SAN
March 17
March 19 and / or
March 21
If the Korean / Japanese teams don't progress JAL won't come.
Flights expected around noon - depart around 3PM so at least it hangs around awhile!!!
If the Cubans progress, a TACA charter (A320) will bring them in on 16 March in the afternoon and be ferried out later that afternoon.
The TACA plane will then return on 21 March to pick up the Cubans and go back to HAV.

I'll be rooting for them, then! A JAL 744 in SAN would be great!

Isn't the Korean team coming from Anaheim? They will be bused most likely so we have to wait until they are picked up and ready to go home.
I'm trying to figue out the WBC schedule...Doesn't Dominican Republic play Cuba on the 18th in the afternoon at Petco? My question is how does the Dominican Republic team get here? On the same TACA flight as the Cuban team from SJU?

The Korean team won't need to be flown in, but they will take JAL charter out upon finishing their games at San Diego. Date of departure depends on how long they hold out.

So does that mean the 747 will fly into SAN to pick them up?

25 Trvlr: I drove down to SAN quick after work today and spotted the TACA plane. I took a camera along, although none of my photos would be airliners.net worthy
26 DCAYOW: Yes a JAL 744 will be ferried in to take them back to Asia. They don't intend to stop on the way, it will be SAN-Asia nonstop. Flight won't be that f
