March 15, 2006. It's exactly 10 years ago aircraft manufacturer Fokker got bankrupted and vanished from the market.

Jan Cocheret, employee of Piloot & Vliegtuig magazine, searched the archives and found out that the bankrupcy of Fokker was unavoidable since World World II. The aircraft Fokker built were very good and was not the cause. Financial mismanagement was the cause of a weak Fokker after WWII.

From the beginning Fokker suffered ups en downs. The factory existed 90 years. The take over by German DASA, at the end of the 1980ties, did not lead to a desired result.

There are still many Fokkers flying around serviced and supplied by Stork. Is there still a future for a re-start? What is the status?
