Varig 9650 has rolled up on top of its tow-bar. I'm working ramp tower and cleared Varig 9650 into gate 119 at Tom Bradley. As the ramp positioned the tow-bar to tow the A/C in, the plane moved forward and rolled up on the tow-bar. Airfield Ops and planes side and looks like they are trying to find a way to get the plane off the tow-bar. Keep you advised.

Pancaked tow-bar has been dragged out from under the A/C. The plane has blocked in after 25 minutes.

PPVRA...gate 119 is a tow in gate for the MD11 in the corner. I cleared them up into the alley and they then follow the ramp crew up to a stop point. Well they were stopped from what I saw. I look back into the alley cause I had cleared Swiss 40 into the alley. When I turned back to RG, the nose gear was on top of the tow-bar. they never hooked up to the tug. It apperas the A/C continued forward as the ramp was positioning the tow-bar. After 15 minutes and Swiss doing some fancy towing into their gate, the ramp crew was able to remove the tow-bar by hooking a strap to it and ripping it out. The plane was then towed into the gate with a different tow-bar. The old one was a pancake, flat as can be. I was very surprised they were able to solve the issue so fast. the current flight outbound is being loaded as I talk, though my have a maintence issue still because we had to change gates for our ZLO arrival.
Airbrazil..the only picture may be with RG and LAWA here at LAX. There could have been some pics taken from the Bradley terminal, we shall see. I have no camera today, just my luck!
