I found out that Coninental will change its daily service from Newark,NJ to Duesseldorf,Germany on a Boeing 767-200 next year!

Can somebody confirm this?

Hi Andie007, no confirmation on this one from me yet (BTW, where are you living, I'm from Unterbach?).

I think the DC-10's always had a good load-factor on this route, so why the change to smaller equipment?

I'd love to see the B767-400 in DUS, though!

Maybe ContinentalEWR got the answer?

I think Continental's plan is to change all of the DC-10 routes to 767-400 routes. I'll be sad to see the DC-10 go. I had no idea that Continental has 767-200's in their fleet. Is this true?

Continental has 10 767-200ER's on order, the first
jet or jets will be delivered late this year. The -200's
and the -400's will be used on Atlantic routes and
will replace DC10's (764's) and some 757's (more
likely 762's so selected markets). For instance, the
762 is likely to be deployed on the CLE-LGW route
with a limited payload, given the runway deficiency
at Cleveland Hopkins Airport.

A number of 762's will operate to Latin America as
well and the 764 is likely to operate IAH and EWR
to HNL flights.

Hi Worldtraveller!

I'm not from Unterbach. Coming from DUS-Urdenbach.
26km south of the Airport. Do you have any news about new routes to Duesseldorf?

Hi Andie001,

Icelandair is new to DUS, as is African Safari Airways (Mondays to Mombasa), but I think this is not new to you.
