I am curious as to the cities where the following had VIP clubs:

Eastern (Ionosphere)
Pan Am (Clipper)
Western (Horizon?)
Republic (?)
Frontier I (I think it was the "Summit" Club)
Piedmont (Presidential Suite)

I can remember a few cities that Eastern had the Ionosphere club.
ATL, MIA, EWR, PBI, MCO and probably many more.

TWA - Ambassador's Club

Edit: Sorry I didn't follow instructions. Wants to know what cities the above mentioned clubs were located in.

Western Airlines - I know they had clubs in LAX, SFO, LAS, SLC, DEN, SAN, SEA, ANC, HNL and MEX.

I frequented PA's Clipper Club in JFK, MIA, SFO, LHR, and FRA. Their JFK Club was the by far the best especially the view.
EA's Ionosphere Club in ATL(they had two I remember) were fantastic.
PA's Clipper Club in FRA was upstairs(I last went there in 1987) and near Air Canada's Maple Leaf Lounge and Qantas' Captain Cook's Lounge.
Business lounges in the 1980s were nothing compared to the pampering you receive in today's clubs.

I'm going to have to disagree. The very first time I went into TWA's Ambassador's Club was in 1987 in JFK, and OH MAN, talk about pampering...food and drinks galore, and a view you just couldnt beat. TWA land all around in T-5 AND T-6.

I agree. The TWA JFK Ambassador's Club was like no other. It was amazing.

Where was the TWA JFK Club?

I assume upstairs in Terminal 5.

Also, does DL still use the original Pan Am Clipper Club at JFK?

Just passing the gift shop on the left hand side after going up the stairs, you go up the circular staircase and it was on the right side. It's where I first met my girlfriend.

I think that is where the current Crown Room is.

I worked in passenger sales for TWA and visited that club many times. The whole TWA terminal was such a unique experience back then - especially in the evening.

Very nice! I worked at This Wonderful Airline from 1996 to 2001. I was on the ramp in SLC and helped out on the ramp in JFK, STL, LAX, and PHX, and then consulting in STL at the end.

Clubs in OMA, JAC, TUS, ABQ, RNO?

Amazing. Compare that to the pruned-back club networks you see nowadays. AA recently closed their SEA Admiral's Club, while you can follow the depressing downward spiral of US by counting the shuttered clubs... SFO, SYR, ROC, IND, PBI, MCO... Sad

USAir A321 service now departing for SFO with fuel stops in CAK, COS and RNO. Enjoy your flight.

Not on US Flagged airlines...they give you a better chair and some drinks, but that's about it.

UA still has a RCC at CLE. In the past, AA, US, and NW all had clubs there as well. (Not sure about RC or TW).

I've never paid for a drink in the RCC (unless I want alcohol, which I don't so much about.
I've never paid for the phone (who uses those phones in the era of cell phones?)
What airline doesn't charge for the conf. room?
Do you expect to get in for free?

Nice thing with UA, and all US carriers, is that you can become a member and use the lounge without flying the airline at all. It's not restricted to same day travel. If you aren't a member, you must be on an international C or F ticket, or be a *G member of *A on any international fare.

25 UN_B732 : The CLE RCC is interesting. It's unmanned, so if you can get the code from someone entitled to get in, or someone who knows it, you can get in. -Mr. X
26 TUNisia : What about the TWA Constellation Club at JFK T5? It was the club for first class pax? Anyone have any more information on this? May 1, 1992 TWA opens
27 WesternA318 : That turned into the Ambassador's Club after TW closed its ops in T6.
28 Zrs70 : That's not very honest.
