This summer, Skyservice Airlines will not be operating its usuall summer program to many routes including BEG, ZAG, SPU, DUB, SNN & LGW!! Lack of aircrafts and tour operator changes apparently are a major reason however their will be a few new routes started this summer including 3 new routes to Portugal. Skyservice, in conjuction with Lawson Tours will be operating weekly flights to Porto (OPO), Ponta Delgada (PDL) & Terceira (TER) to go along with its Lisbon (LIS) service. Flights to LIS will operate on Mondays returning Tuesdays, PDL-TER will be Wednesday returning Thursday and OPO Friday returning Saturday. All flights will be operated with B757-200 aircrafts configured to 216Y.

TS did Portugal with 757's years ago, too many complaints about cramped space. Tour operators requested as a condition of signing deal that it be widebody hence the A310 fleet was born. Secondly and somewhat related, it is my understanding that many, many moons ago TS and 5G(Skyservice) had an informal aggreement TS got Portugal and 5G got Italy. This of course is in relation to the tour ops that sign with them.

Ricardo, in LAS, Conquest has dropped 5G and went with WS, I know the YYZ/LAS/YYZ flight will remain for the summer. Rumours are that 5G is going sked and they have installed Gabriel check in system at LAS counters. What have your heard ??

So the newly leased A333 will be flying only to Italy and not Portugal?
I also herd that 5G will have new domestic ops in the summer.

The A330 will be flying to Italy, plus SNN and DUB. The Eastern European expansion has been jeapardized by the financial viability of the tour operator requesting those flights. LGW is no longer on the schedule as it was a Sunwing flight, and they now have their own fleet.
There is really nothing surprising here, other than perhaps a lack of growth into Eastern Europe. Also, it is the tour operators that dictate where Skyservice flies, so there will always be some juggling back and forth. I think overall it will be a comparable schedule to last year's, but with one less tour operator using our services.
I haven't heard anything about LAS or the implementation of Gabriel.

Skyservice flights will be pretty much similar of years past. 330 on Italy, and Ireland runs. couple of 319's for conquest for domestic and florida. couple of 757's for down south and over to Portugal. and a few 320's for the south as well. Not much change.

I heard that Skyservice had been working towards Gabriel for the past year and is presenlty implementing it. Doesn't mean they're going sked. I think its' part of a bigger effort at 5G to improve technology. Some 5G insider could probably tell us more.

the LCDS for skyservice at LAS was Muse it was a common system that
TS and a few of the other operators used rather then getting their own host system. I cant see them spending $$$$ for a system that would be used for
only 2 flights a week....but then you never know, I heard that they were pulling out and now 5G is staying, but without Conquest

FAO service is seasonal with Skyservice, and therefore ends in April or so.
Regarding Gabriel, Skyservice has no public intentions of going sched. Gabriel is being implemented in order to improve the information technology to comply with regulatory requirements, and also to take advantage of increased revenue opportunities, and remaining competitive as customers to the tour operators.
The A330 (VKI) is going to be here for the summer, and I'm sure the company is studying its options for wide body capacity during the winter season next year. I think some of the more obvious options would be to try to extend the A330-300 lease into the winter, if My Travel agrees to of course; try to source another 767 or A330 for the winter; and also the option of bringing back RAV (A330) which is being subleased right now.

As of this moment, GABRIEL DCS is only up in YYZ and most recently YYC (much to the dismay of many of us agents - we want CODECO back). As for sked, no shot any time soon.

Skyservice NEVER operated this route last year. It was in the plans but never happened. There were plans for Timisoara along with Moscow but they never materialized.

Hey there
was in the office yesterday and saw an interesting article posted on one of the bulliten boards. I do believe it was from the globe or the National post. Anyway it stated something about Skyservice going public to rasie funds for an expansion?!?!? I didn't see the date on the page as it was photo copied and part of it was cut off. Hmmm must dig deeper to find out what this is all about.
