Just heard some sad news about an aircraft enthusiast who was killed in a freak vehicle accident last night at Hamilton Airport, Ontario. Canada (CYHM).

The news came from my good friend Mike, who was concerned as the person involved drove the same car as myself.

Hopefully, he is not a member of A.net and I would like to extend my personal sympathies to the family of the person involved and may he rest in peace.

Bizarre car crash kills young Hamilton man who was parked on dead end road at airport
27-year-old woman thought she was on a through road, police said

GLANBROOK -- A young Hamilton man is dead and a 27-year-old local woman is in hospital after a bizarre early morning car crash on a dead end road near Hamilton airport.

Police said an airplane hobbyist was sitting in a parked car on Glancaster Road watching flights land when another car driven by a 27-year-old Hamilton woman collided with his just after midnight.

No names have been released.

Police said it appeared that the woman thought she was on a through road. The road ends at a fence that surrounds the runway.

The man, who was a student in his mid-twenties, was parked in the middle of a circular loop of road.

Normally, a street lamp positioned on the turnaround would have lit up the white car, but police said that someone had recently broken the lamp that illuminates the area, which is a local gathering spot for late-night parties.

Police were called to the scene by a resident after the injured woman came to her door.

A week ago, a car travelling the same road crashed through the airport fence.
