This morning I got a call from my mom who was coming back from PHL on US Flight 255 (On March 23). She called and said that the flight was on a 767! Usually that flight is on a 757. Why the equipment change? Where is the 767 going to next? Anyone have any information on this? I was interested to hear about a US widebodyn back in PIT for regular scheduled passenger flights. Although I'm sure it will not be a frequentn thing, I would like to know why this happened.

Cheers!

I've looked through the schedules and there is nothing that notes the schedule change so it could be an equipment sub or something.

Just yesterday, US said that they were extending their lease of maintenance facilites at PIT until after 2010. The facility will focus on boeing and airbus work, although I think that they will only work on narrow bodies and not heavies; I think they'll go to CLT, but who knows... Things are bound to change...
