Searched, couldnt find it anywhere else. In addition to the ILG service... 6 times a week service to Pinehurst/Southern Pines, North Carolina with a 40 seat CRJ

ATL-SOP DL 4378 9:30am 10:45am CRJ-200
SOP-ATL DL 4378 11:10am 12:28pm CRJ-200

Have fun turning around a CRJ in 25 minutes. It can be done, i know, hoping everything is on time.

Also I am wondering as to the profitability of bring ground equipment, people, etc for a flight for 6 times a week. They cant borrow from anyone else, there is no one else.

Do they contract out to someone to handle them or have their own employees? Must be hard to get agents to agree to work only a couple hours a day - and this is probably a seasonal service, no?

According to the article, yes seasonal: "Between June 22 and Nov. 13, 2006"

Even if it is contracted out... the contractor has to find people to work at most 2 hours a day 6 days a week, plus get all the carts, belts, etc from. Sounds like a lot of work to be done for one CRJ. And ofcourse they will pass the costs on to Delta.

It might appear weird and costly a move, and quite honestly, when I first read the PR, I was like "Where???", but after reading through the PR, and seeing how much DL puts a focus on all the golf courses, I'd tend to think that DL has striked some type of deal with the people running these courses. E.g. that DL will start those flights, and the golf owners there will financially support DL by paying for ground equipment, employees, and advertising. After all, it would be of mutual interest for both DL and golf course owners for this route to succeed.

USAirways Express used to serve SOP from CLT using props.

The yields should be relatively high, so the service might work. Kind of like DL's seasonal RJ service to Lewisberg, WV.
