Sorry it's a vague article, but it's all I found..
A woman snuck onto a STL - AUS flight to attend a performing arts festival, after she realised she wouldn't clear the stand-by list.. She hid in the bathroom until the F/A caught her... Geez..

Her name is Cat Chow. Her web site is cat-chow.com. She hid in the bathroom until a man knocked on the door, then she came out and tried to take the man's seat.

AIRLINERS.NET CREW PHOTO SCREENER
what a moron.
Let's see, I'm on the no-fly list so I think I will sneak onto the plane.
The good news is she will have plenty of time to work on her "art" projects when she is doing a federal stretch...

The airline personnel are in trouble too.
"Bill Mishk, a spokesman for Trans States, said the airline is reviewing its procedures and has taken 'some disciplinary action.' He declined to elaborate."
Does anybody know if Cat Chow is related to Meow Mix?

Bill's involved? Man, things are not going to be happy around his department for a while. He's a good guy, though.

They boarded about 20 people and then asked them to return to the gate area, at which point that group only had their ticket stubs. During reboarding, Ms. Chow noticed that the gate agents were not looking at the ticket stubs, so she got on line and flashed her ticket stub and nobody read it. So she wasn't planning to be a stowaway until she realized how easy it would be. It's almost entrapment. That's why the gate agents were disciplined; they made it too easy. Are the F/A's supposed to look in the bathroom before takeoff?

Quoting Cmk10 (Reply 9): Obviously Ms. Chow had not watched Airport enough.
For real!
To quote Ada Quonset:
(Her theory on stowing away by hiding in the bathroom)
"If you wait long enough, the stewardesses are busy hanging up coats .. and talking to the men ....... " !
Though that was on a 707 .. I wonder how succesful even Mrs Quonset could be hiding out in the lav on a Brasilia jet ! (and I assume thats what if it was since it was AA out of STL!)

It was a connecting flight, there was probably no need to go through security in St. Louis.
She flew standby from New York to St. Louis, but there were no seats available for the second leg of her trip. She was supposed to sit at the gate and wait for a later flight.
She saw a group of people without tickets getting on the plane (they were boarding for the second time), so she blended in with that group.
