An AirTran DC-9 returned to GSO about 15 minutes after departure to ATL yesterday when the flight crew noticed smoke in the cockpit and cabin. The smoke appeared to be coming from the circuit breaker panel behind the captain's seat. Several of the 62 persons on board were treated for smoke inhalation and other minor injuries at the North Carolina Medical Center outside Greensboro.
