so far the information is that it was a CESSNA... no type yet... also, no casualties, just 6 of the 12 pax were hurt... also, 2 crew, total people on board, 14... This is preliminary yet.. Though it seems it isn't too bad of an incident...

What type of Cessna can accomodate 14 people? I thought the Caravan was the biggest, but it can only take 10. Something is sketchy, but we will wait for confirmed sources.

If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

Quoting RoseFlyer (Reply 5):
What type of Cessna can accomodate 14 people?

According to the A.net database, it says this:

208A - Pilot and typically nine passengers, or up to 14 with an FAA FAR Part 23 waiver.

As a local, I feel in a duty to inform this sad news.

The Cesna Caravan with reg HC-BXD from the comapny ATESA connecting the jungle, took off from CUENCA RWY 05 at 11:00AM. Taking off, the plane and passengers (Survivors) reported loss of power and a fuel leak... ( a bit unclear) and finnally stalled and fell into a tyre factory nearby.

The plane broke through the roof with the wing and feel inside into a wall killing 5 people on board. The crew members (One who seems to be a known friend, not yet confirmed) survived. The rest ingured and 5 dead.
