Swiss Still Not In Star Alliance Timetable

Browsing through the Star Alliance timetables (web version, PC version, PDA version), I see that LX flights are not included in any of them. Given that they will be a member in one week - or aren't they? - that is quite surprising. Other airlines had their flights in the timetables before they joined (although only those flights after the joining dates).

Anyone knows why? When that will change?

I am experiencing the same problem. I called UA MileagePlus and not even their Customer Service Agents know anything about it. If you look at LH's Miles and More Website, there is more "limited information", but one caveat I must point out..if you look at the Star Alliance Award chart on LH's Miles and More site, an economy class R/T Europe-North America Award is listed as 60K, but the chart on UA's Mileage Plus site still says 50K for the same award....

"...By the way, Is there anyone onboard who knows how to fly a plane???"

Swiss does only join Star Alliance on Friday, the 7th of April 2006 and there is a big party going on at the airport where Swiss and other Star Alliance Member staff are invited.

South African Airways joins Star Alliance on Monday, the 10th of April and they are also not in the Star Alliance timetable for the time being.

As far as I can remember the Star e-timetbale is updated every weekend. And with the exaption of US Airlines who was uploaded 2 or 3 weeks in advance, all new members weren't uploaded before they officially became a member.

It is weird that they are not in the timetable yet. I was looking for a flight from ZRH to JFK on April 10. There were only flights via FRA, MUC or even VIE (quite a detour), but not the direct LX flights.

Why don´t you use either LX`s website or something like Amadeus.net ?

Smile I of course do. It was just a test out of curiosity to look if one could find a Swiss flight after the April 7, the official joining date.

In today's download of the PC timetable and I presume also on the PDA version, both Swiss and South African are loaded!

Welcome!

I am flying through ZRH airport on Friday afternoon. Will pax see or hear something of or about this party as well, or is it in some place inaccessible for pax?

I don't know. But probably you find something on the Swiss or Zurich-Airport page. Otherwise try to find something when you are there.
