I figured you guys would answer this faster than any Milage plus 1-800 number. If i fly on an America West flight do i get miles for United now that theyre technically USAirways, technically Star Alliance?
If so, how do i go about getting missing milage, as i have a flight OAK-PHX-DEN which would be cool if it was credited.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Unfortunately You don't get any credit now. HP FFP members will soon have their accounts changed into dividend miles accounts and then you will be able to accrue miles on partners. For more go to HP's website.

If you don't mind waiting a couple of months, then yes. If you fly an HP route, then the miles will be transferred over to US, which will allow you to use them on UA.

I actually meant putting the miles right into a UA account. Sort of how i can get UA miles for flying US, or LH, or LO, or SK, you get it.

Well we've been taking Mileage Plus cards for quite a while now...and other Star Alliance members. They tell us that they cannot electronically credit any miles from SA members...so not sure if that means you can get credit, but have to submit manually. They changed one of our input fields in our computer system to accept the longer numbers of some SA members. Honestly it's been very vague and I take the numbers anyhow...after literally arguing with a couple of people over it...I just gave up!!

i was on America west last week, and the agent asked me if i wanted to enroll. i told her i was a premier with United, but then she said that starting from last month, i can earn mileage on united when i fly on America west. so i gave her the FF number of mileage plus. I called United and asked them, and the agent told me that yes, i can accrue mileage on United if i travel on flights operated by America west.

Q:As a Dividend Miles member, will my Star Alliance benefits be affected by the merger?
A:No, your Star Alliance benefits will remain the same. You can continue to accrue and redeem on Star Alliance member airlines. However, at this point United Mileage Plus members are not able to earn or redeem miles on flight segments operated by America West.

I've seen that info too, and United's Mileage Plus site says nothing about America West. Anyone have any official info about earning United miles on HP?
I've got a trip on HP coming up in July (booked on usairways.com) and while I have my US Dividend Miles number in there now, I'd much rather earn UA miles since I have more of them.

I believe it has to do with what airline your flight number is on. If you are flying on an HP flight with a US flight number, you should be able to earn miles. Basically, check your ticket to see if it starts with 037, then it is with US and therefore you can earn UA miles.

I was able to get Mileage Plus miles on a US Airways Operated by America West DBA Mesa Airlines flight from MSP-CLT...but it was a US ticket and routing.
