The summer season is fast approaching and airlines are adding service to TVC. For those that know TVC, is this good or what?

All daily service unless noted otherwise.

NW
DTW-TVC
SF34 x 1
DC9 x 3
A319 x 1
A320 x 1

MSP-TVC
DC9 x 1

UA
ORD-TVC
CRJ2 x 3
CRJ7 x 2

DL
CVG-TVC
CRJ2 x 2

ATL-TVC (NOW DAILY SERVICE)
CRJ2 x 1

AE
LGA-TVC (FRI,SAT,SUN)
ERJ3 x 1

Still only shows two daily from ORD, so Im sure this is going to change. In past summers they offered 5 daily during the week and 7 daily on Saturday and Sunday. Im sure the DFW service will return also.

Im sorry if Im overly excited, but, Im pretty happy at the prospects of flying on an A320 into TVC.  Wink

the Airbus from NW is probably the big surprise. I think they've flown in there in past years but not much...its normally DC9s in the summer with some Airlink flights. I do think(correct me if i'm wrong) that NW did occasionally use the 727 on flight to TVC in the past, when they had them, not regularly but occasionally(maybe summer season? or just a sub. I dont know)

but the increased flights for the summer is kinda normal for northern michigan. I know when I worked for XJ PLN went from like 3 flights a day to like 7 or 8, something like that.

Not too long ago I talked to the station manager for XJ in APN and she said that they were getting there own aircraft again for 1 flight(as opposed to sharing it with CIU) she wasnt sure though about the 3rd flight coming back...right now its just 2 flights a day from APN-DTW

Due to our ongoing efforts to reduce costs, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off until further notice.

Maize,

Now what TVC needs is a FedEx 727 from MEM or IND instead of all those -208's from GRR......

We are enjoying our 3 A310 flights (2X MEM / 1X IND) in GRR feeding all your -208's though....

Direct KNOBS, maintain 2700' until established on the localizer, cleared ILS approach 26 left.

I disagree that the A320 is the biggest surprise. Northwest was filling the 727 regularly in 2002, it was bound to happen, just a matter of when. I guess for me the biggest surprise is the fact that its all mainline service with the exception of a single SF34 flight early in the day.

As far as the ASA daily service to ATL, thats not really a surprise to me either.

Has the TVC E-W runway been extended yet?
safe

If two people agree on EVERYTHING, then one isn't necessary.

No, its still in the plans. The north south runway was extended 200 feet or so to 5379ft. Im sure it will get more use by the airlines this summer.

1.5 mil was approved for for construction of the new control tower so they might wait on the 10-28 extension until that is completed.
