Aeroflot has ceased serving some South American routes since last year, like Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile. Do you know why they stopped service, or if they plan to resume sometime with new aircraft? (They used to fly to my city with IL96)

I think everybody understod what Airfly was telling. It's rude from you to correct other's spelling specially if it's from a country where the language is not english.
I hope you don't do it again but if you do it, just worry with the american or britain users.
Remember this site is from Sweden.....
BTW, it seems Aeroflot is modernising his fleet wich is good news.

That would be great if they get MD-11's but I am sort of sad that they are replacing all their Soviet planes with western ones. I am dying to ride on a Il 86 or Il96 or an Il62. In August I might be going to Moscow and while I haven't bought the ticket yet, I am planning to fly on Aeroflot on the 777 from JFK. That should be fun, but I wish it was still an Il96. My brother flew from Moscow to SFO through Seattle on an Il96. The differences he noticed were that the seats that were not occupied sloped forward on landing and some of the overhead compartments opened. Boy was I jealous. Fortunately I was able to ride on a Cubana Tu154. Same deal with the seats, and it didn't seem like there were oxygen masks. Nonetheless the ride was smooth as silk and at times I got to look into the cockpit when the engineer opened the cockpit door to ash his cigarette in the ashtray by the front lav. DG

Okey guys, lets not get into this racism thing, firts off all all Russian Interantional Airlines (Aeroflot) pilkopts are suppose to know 5 languages to be a pilot for aeroflot wich are Spanish, english, German, Chinese(Korean, Jappanese), and well Russian, and the MD-11 will be brought i think from World Airways. All new airplanes wioll be brought not leased, the 777 will be given back at the year 2001, when the porder ships in, as far as i know. the tuplev airplanes will be on ly on 2 routes, Moscow ___St. Petersburg and Moscow _____Tver, thats it, soe Ilushins wil make ninternational routs

Aeroflot seems like a nice airline with a nice fleet of planes. I shouldn't have thought they were a bad airline (I didn't say, just in head). It's okay to have bad spelling as long as people can understand. I would expect good spelling though out of a persaon who's main language is English. Does it really require FIVE languages? Do all airlines do this? It seems the only important one would be the international one... English. Do Aeroflot 777s have PTVs like the rest? Nice, huh? What kind of interior do NEW Aerflot airplanes have? THanks to this post, I will probably fly them when I get a chance (if ever). Why are they giving back their 777s? It seems like a nice aircraft for Aeroflot to spread its wings with.
How's your Chinese, I kinda speak it too... or at least I'm learning it :)

But Aeroflot has had a lot of incidents these past few decades....
Also their staff are RUDe as hell, and I dont blame them on the wage they are getting and the ocnditions in which they work.... Poor things - with such low wages - and getting taxed at such airport as heathrow for overweight! :(
I really feel for the crew. Maybe the owners/ shareholders could jask it up a bit.

What da u mean Aeroflot is fine? I mean, in the past, their safety records has been among the world's worst. And looking at an example, the A310 crashed in 1994, I mean, doesn't know that pilots are not suuposed to let the unauthorised fly? I WILL NOT FLY AEROFLOT, EVER!
And i never heard that Aeroflot is buying MD-11s and 757s? where did ya pull that info from?

no way that Aeroflot pilots have to speak these five languages!!! (As you see, they can hardly speak one foreign language)
It is REALLY SCARY to me that a pilot who flies to New York and Seattle can't speak english well!!!
I mean, we've had some serious incidents where language problems played a major role...
Please get me right, I absolutely don't want to be offensive to Airfly, no way, but I have many doubts about airline safety in russia.
Let's hope that this will improve quickly in the future.

Hi, I don't think he lied about "the five languages". European airlines probably have a much
stricter rule about the number of languages you know. It doesn't matter if english is the
international language. If your home language wasn't english but you learned it and
another four languages than I'll doubt it that you can write without any spelling mistakes..
