Help Me Identify This Airport, Please!

Posted (7 years 1 month 3 weeks 3 days 14 hours ago) and read 2775 times:

The picture was taken enroute Zürich to Orlando in 1998. It was shot out of a starboard window. Somewhere in the north-eastern USA/Canada some minutes/hours before we passed Connecticut/NYC.

The pic quality is very poor but if you know the airport you should recognize it. Looks military, one runway, huge concrete area.

It looks like KBGR (Bangor, Maine). Unfortunately, there's not a picture you can compare it with at a.net, but the airport diagram is at http://204.108.4.16/d-tpp/0603/00039AD.PDF.

It's probably KCEF, Westover Air Force Reserve Base near Springfield, MA. There is a C-5 AFRES squadron based there.

I would have to agree.

To think what we'd do without GoogleEarth. Undoubtedly one of the best products put out by Google (excluding their search engine).

Thank you guys, it's definitely Pease AFB. The lake and the highway are clearly visible in the photo.

I can recommend you to get a Google Earth placemark folder listing all military airports. Unfortunately I have only one with active airports.
