I recently heard that MFE is trying to lure a new Mexican airline.

-I wasn't sure if it was a charter or an actual Mexican airline; all I do know is, flights would go to CUN.

Any ideas or feed back would be helpful.

With all these new expansions at MFE, and more airlines being attracted, I'm pretty sure MFE could lure one, just wondering which airline or charter airline it is.

Which expansions?

When I was in McAllen in January I didn't see the terminal from the road leading to the intl. bridge. I only saw a bunch of GA planes and its hangars.

Could you make a summary of MFE's commercial flights?

Saludos desde Caracas,
Luis

Aerotransportes y Servicios de Mexico applied last year for charter authority to operate between MFE and CUN, GDL, MEX, and MTY. http://dms.dot.gov/search/document.c...m?documentid=340350&docketid=21977

Maybe someone knows the latest about the company.

Which expansions?

They expanded inside the terminal, and added a 5th gate for ASA

The application at the bottom of the link says they would operate 757-200s. They thought they would start in Nov 2005 but didn't make that.

The authority application says its owned by Sistemas Aéreos de México. That company is owned by an Alberto J. Morales. The bio in the app says he is a lawyer and investor.

Maybe some of the officers listed in the application will mean something to you. Open the pdf file at the link.

And how I heard this was on th MCN(McAllen Cable Network) the old Airport director Derald Larry, was mentioning on MFE's '06 future, and thats when I heard that he was trying to lure a new airline to fly to CUN.

On another note: Who knows the new McAllen airport director, Bobby K. Brown Ibelieve, he was at STL, AUS and some where else, what's he like? Does he bring good things to the the airport or airports he's worked at?

Makes sense to me,

I expended a lot of time at Mcreery FBO at MFE and every time that there was a long weekend or some kind of mexican holiday the general aviation tarmac would get SERIOUSLY packed of mexican private airplanes, It's amazing to see how many mexican families fly there on private planes just to go shopping to the mall that happens to be across the street from the FBO.

Chances it will be Aeromar with the ATRs or Aerolitoral with the ERJ.

Ok, read the PDF file and this clear many things up! Its one of still many more unannounced mexican start-ups, a project with retired MX/AM pilots with intentions to bring 2 B757-200s to start operations. Supposedly by July 06 they should be taking off the ground and they will be flying out mainly from MTY and MEX.
