While the order is OFFICIALLY not cancelled yet, don't expect them to get them anytime. Probably the deposits are already transfered to 737ngs and 787s. At least they won't get them in september already, the 777 production for the next 12 months is already accounted for (the next 60 deliveries are known) and Garuda is not amongst them.

nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

Not to under mine you, but can you please post a link to that, as I'm interested in seeing that.

there is a cool website about the new Boeing deliveries http://www.selcalweb.co.uk/boeing.htm
and a production list website http://www.airlinerlist.com of which yours truly is the webmaster. On these websites, you can see the next 50 777s accounted for, as line 558 is the newest flying now while line 559-607 are known already.

When they start building the B787s Garuda will shift the deposit onto something else... they seem to be in constant financial trouble for the past decade or so...

I can confirm from inside the company that the T7s are definitely off the table. The order for the 6 frames has been converted into an order for 10 B787s, due to arrive from 2010 onwards. Garuda being Garuda, that is of course absolutely no guarantee that the frames will indeed arrive. The airline might well go through 3 or 4 management shake ups, with all new managers, in true Indonesian style, in dire need to manifest their presence...

In other words, do not believe anything until you actually see the aircraft itself with the actual Indonesian rego pulling into the gate at Cengkareng.
