I have a question for anyone that has traveled in Continental's Business First to Europe. I am considering a trip to Barcelona this summer and the flight is on a 757. Are the Business Elite seats in the 757s the same pitch and width as on their 767s and 777s? How was the service on the 757?

Thanks

I have flown CO's 757s to Europe several times in BF, and the service is very very good with little difference from the service on the 767/777 aircraft - the small 16 seat cabin sometimes even results in better service.

Differences:

1. Pitch is 55 inches, just as in the 767/777s.........seat width is a bit narrower - the 752 has 20 inch wide seats, the 767s have 21 inch wide seats, and the 777 has a more advanced 22 inch side seat. The adjustments for the seats on the 752 are a bit different, but no real issue.

2. Cappacino and Espresso coffee is not available on the 757. Otherwise, meal service is exactly the same. And, its very good.

3. The IFE system is a bit different on the 757s - yes, there are PTVs, but the 757 system has less choice than the system offered on the 767 or 777 - but, 757s are now being equipped with an updated AVOD IFE system that is very good and offers more choice and convenience than the widebody system. (I had the system on a recent EWR-FLL flight and it was good). Will you get the new system? Who knows!

4. Flight times on 757s are a bit longer than on the 767/777 fleet - but taking a nonstop flight to BCN is a big advantage.

Give the CO 757 a try -you will be impressed......many here at a.net are opposed to the 757 on longer transatlantic routes, but the 757 in BF is a very good ride.

I'll agree on the last part. I've taken many T/A flights in CO's 757's in BF. Almost as good (sometimes better) than the 767/777 service!

I've flown Bizfirst on the 767, 777 and the 757, and I loved them all.

For "nostalgia" I like the 757. To me it's like crossing on a 707 or DC-8 with 21 century comfort and old fashioned good service!

In short, it's great, not claustrophobic, nor camped. Great service too (oh I said that already, but it's worth repeating)!

Wow!!! Thats 5 positive responses in a row about Continental sending 757s to Europe. That must be some type of record.

Well, here is number 6!

The 757 is great. You can barely tell the difference of being in a narrowbody or a widebody and I've traveled both in BusinessFirst and the main cabin.

Enjoy Barcelona and Continental. They both are great!

Nu. 7! The record's getting bigger, LOL.

I will agree that the 757 makes one reminisce of being on a PA or TWA 707, possibly off for far-flung places like LHR, FCO, Karachi, lol, Barcelona rocks too!

I find the BF seats on our 757s to actually be the most comfortable of ALL our mainline aircraft by far.

That include's the 777..

IFE'S a bit primitive but does the job, and is being retrofitted with AVOD slowly on the 75E'S.

Tail# 112 I believe, already has it, you could be lucky!
