There were a lot of MSP diversions today to places like DLH, LSE, FSD and RST. Icelandair did end up in Duluth, it looks like a flight tracker glitch showed it has having landed first at MSP and then a new flight plan showed it leaving MSP for DLH.

Quoting Luv2fly (Reply 2): Now that would be something to see at DLH!! eyepopping
NW used to (I'm not sure if they still do) have a large maintanance facility up at DLH. They'd regularly get 747s and DC-10s in for work. They've got a 10,000ft runway up there. They've seen some interesting stuff up there, but an the icelandair plane is probably a first.
Quoting N808NWatMSP (Reply 3): That makes sense, we do have some severe thuderstorms rumbling through the MSP area right now. Thanks!
Yeah, we do. It was much more likely diverted than someone doing a special trip on Icelandair from MSP-DLH. I know they have nice flight attendants, but it would be much easier and cheaper just to go NW.
