Amazing Heathrow Video

I stumbled across that video- a compilation of dozens of landings, take-offs and taxiing.... simply AMAZING for all of us aviation enthusiasts! I dont think it has been posted before- didn't find anything when I did a search. This is why all of us are envious of you folks at LHR.... what a great airport.

ENJOY!

Great Vid, never come across that one before.

There are some great spotting places at Heathrow. I think it's the car park of the holiday inn/BAA Visitors centre right opposite runway 27 (I think)!

Every time i'm collecting someone from the airport I make a point of stopping there for a couple of arr/deps!

Thanks

thanks for sharing that! Just makes me rethink how great aircraft landings are!

Well, did I see an Air Canada 340-600? When did they enter service? Was it really that long ago, since this video was dated July 21, '04?.. I may have some long term memory problem here..

The road that runs round the back of the maintenance areas at the Eastern end of the airport is now re-open, and allows some great views of planes on finals, yards from touchdown.

Number of flights so far this year - 83. Next flights - LHR-CDG-LHR AF AT7

hmm.. could be, but definitely not 343s, since I don't really recall any of them wearing Trent 500 engines....

Do AC use 345s to LHR? I thought they're only using it on their HKG routes...

Nice video, thanks Zeyad. Glad to see the MEA A330 coming in!!

The AC Airbus A340 in question is definitely a -500...what the hell was it doing at LHR?

When was this video taken? 2004 was it? I didn't know that LY was still opearting 742s in those days. Blast from the past.

Hmm... could that flight be the delivery flight or proving flight before the aircraft was even delivered to AC? My question exactly as well, what was it doing there?

AC did some test flights to LHR during this time before they started the HKG service. I was thinking about the following picture and the comment under it.
The video was dated 21/7/04 and the foto is from 25/7/04.

I think it were some normal passenger service with the 345 instead of a normal 343 for testing the aircraft and helping the crew to learn more about it on shorter routes before they started the "ultra" long-haul service to HKG.

Great vid!!

I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of traffic I saw in Heathrow this summer!
Landing on 27L at dusk was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen! Taxiing to our gate at the crowded T3... WOW...

Love Heathrow!

Awesome video, Heathrow can be an addiction if you like planes, the variety of aircraft and airlines is simply incredible, only matched by FRA and CDG. Most of the shots were taken from Myrtle Avenue, a great place to watch planes.
