Does anyone know why this morning there was an Iceland Air B757-200 at JAX. It was parked at the Delta concourse and it seems it was deplaning. Was the flight diverted or was it a refueling stop. Any info would be appreciated.

Cascade Aerospace is based at YXX. They have a contract for CO mtx, but I wasn't aware of one for Icelandic. Could be a resale though, the Eos 757s came through YXX for pre-delivery work.

Called down to the ole friends down in Delta JAX and it is apparently a charter that was coming down, but going to ex-NAS Cecil Field. The flight was empty except for crew, but they needed to clear Customs. So the plane landed in JAX, cleared Customs, and then it took off for the 20 mile hop to VQQ.
Now, here is my question. Customs in JAX, IIRC, is mobile. They aren't at the airport all the time. And they are ALSO assigned to VQQ as well. So why couldn't the plane land there and be cleared? Its only the crew, and its not like they have to go through any more metal detectors or anything. They could have done it right there on the ramp at Cecil. Hmph, go figure.
