As I look out my office windown on the 23rd floor in downtown Seattle I see a AA 772 on final to BFI. Is AA still ordering/receiving new 777's, or is there another reason for the 777 to landing at Boeing Field?

That's a plane Boeing has leased from AA for about a year to do tests. As for AA, they did receive two 777s earlier this year, bringing their total -- including the plane you saw that is leased to Boeing -- to 47, and they have another 7 on order for deliver after 2013.

The plane you keep seeing is N6055X, which N780AN.

AA took a new 772ER last month, N767AJ.

Not to split hairs, but they've recieved one so far this year with one more due in a few months.

And yes, the 772 you saw on final was most likely the 772 Boeing leased from AA.

OKE is sitting outside of the paint bar, should be going in today.
